What forwardlab is, what the numbers mean, and what stays private — no spin.
- Is this real money?
- No. forwardlab forward-tests on live market data with simulated fills — a paper record, not a brokerage account. Nothing here is investment advice.
- Do I need to code?
- No. You describe the strategy in plain English and a live model reasons over the data each period. The only things it will do are the ones it can actually compute point-in-time.
- Which models run it?
- Multiple live frontier models — Claude, GPT, and Gemini. Every decision is journaled with the exact model and version, so the record is auditable.
- What does "scored at day 90" mean?
- Each strategy has a gating window — a set number of trading days it must run before we compute a headline performance score. Until that window closes we show the reasoning and the running NAV, but no score, because a handful of days can't separate skill from luck.
- Why can't I see a Sharpe yet?
- A Sharpe ratio — or any risk-adjusted score — needs enough live observations to mean anything. On a young forward record, a Sharpe would be noise dressed up as signal. We hold it back until the gating window closes rather than show a number we'd have to walk back.
- Is my strategy private?
- A strategy you create is private to your account. If you choose to publish it, that mints a public, tamper-evident record from that point forward; until you do, it isn't visible to anyone else. The house strategies are public by design — they're the proof.
